Technical Assistance (TA) staff are located in regional offices across the state and provide drinking water technical assistance, training, and support to public water systems. Contact your local provider if you need assistance with chemical treatment change/addition requests, chlorination point of application change, CT calculation assistance, Alternate Staffing Plan submittal, data integrity concerns or Area Wide Optimization Program (AWOP) support.

Area Wide Optimization Program (AWOP)

The Area Wide Optimization Program (AWOP), established and implemented by USEPA, is a multi-state effort that the Division of Water has participated in since 1997. The goal of the program is to maximize public health protection by providing water systems the tools, training, and support necessary to optimize turbidity removal and reduce Disinfection By-Products (DBP) formation. The optimization goals are more stringent than the regulations; thus, providing many benefits. AWOP can also be utilized to provide compliance assistance through optimization.
