What is a River Basin?

A river basin is the portion of land drained by a river and its tributaries. It encompasses all of the land surface drained by many streams and creeks that flow downhill into one another. Another name for a river basin is watershed.

Who are the Basin Coordinators?

Kentucky is divided into 7 major river basins, each of which is staffed by a Basin Coordinator. The Basin Coordinators serve as facilitators for agency activities and as a point of contact for local organizations interested in addressing clean water issues.
