The Cumberland Wild River Corridor is 16.1 miles long , and extends from Summer Shoals to the backwaters of Lake Cumberland. The river runs through a narrow valley between steep wooded ridges that rise 300 feet or more above the level of the stream. Cumberland River is enjoyed by many outdoor enthusiats for its fishing, paddling, and other outdoor recreation opportunities. It is also home to many rare, threatened, or endangered species.
