Kentucky Energy and Environment Cabinet

For training providers that hold conferences or provide a large number of educational events, the cabinet has established a Certified Training Provider (CTP) Program per 401 KAR 11:050. This fee based program allows training providers with at least two years of Cabinet approved water and wastewater educational provision in the Commonwealth to apply for certification. While the provider still has to maintain the same standards and documentation as any other provider, the pre-approval process for courses is waived. CTPs are subject to audit.

How do I apply to become a Certified Training Provider?

Applicants must submit an Application for Certified Training Provider form. You can apply online or via paper application.

There is a yearly $2,000 fee. Please be advised that there is an additional $50 charge for applications received via mail.

Apply Online:

To begin the process, establish a EEC eforms account. Or sign in if you already have an account.
Click on Forms in the toolbar at the top.
Under the list of available eforms, you can click on the column header "Form Name" or "Division" to sort by that category.
Click on the plus sign next to the Application for Certified Training Provider form.
Once the application has been completed, select the Continue to Pre-Payment button. You will be directed to pay at this time.

Paper Application ($50 additional processing fee required):

Complete the Application for Certification Training Provider form which can be found in the DEP Forms Library.
Checks should be made payable to Kentucky State Treasurer. The total should include the application fee as well as the $50 processing fee.

I've been approved, what is the next step?

Once approved, you are required to watch a short training video. This information will be sent to you via email. After reviewing the video, you can then begin submitting courses for approval using the Certified Training Provider Course Submittal form.

How do I submit CEU hours for credit?

Upon completion of the approved training, the provider must submit a Continuing Education Activity Report form using the EEC eforms website. You can submit online or via paper application.

There is no fee for submitting continuing education hours online. Please be advised that there is a $50 charge if the form is received via mail.

My CTP status is expiring soon, what do I need to do?

Sixty (60) days prior to the Certified Training Provider's expiration date, applicants must submit a new Application for Certified Training Provider form with the CTP fee.

DEP staff will request course information to go before the certification board for auditing purposes.
