Kentucky's Groundwater Programs and Resources Overview

The Kentucky Division of Water's groundwater program is dedicated to the protection, monitoring, and sustainable management of the Commonwealth's vital groundwater resources. Through statewide monitoring efforts, regulatory oversight, and technical guidance, the program works to assess water quality, identify potential contamination risks, and support responsible groundwater use. It also provides valuable standards. Together, these efforts help ensure that Kentucky's groundwater remains a safe and reliable resource for drinking water, agriculture, and ecological health.
