Dedicated Dec. 5, 1986, Cypress Creek State Nature Preserve consists of a 98-acre portion of bottomlands lying adjacent to Cypress Creek in Muhlenberg County. The preserve and adjacent areas contain a mosaic of natural communities including bald cypress (Taxodium distichum) swamp and bottomland hardwood forest complex that supports numerous rare species typically associated with wetlands.
