Due to the spread of COVID-19, the Department for Environmental Protection has implemented telecommuting to enable better social distancing and slow the spread of the virus. The Kentucky Water Well Driller Certification is now administering certification examinations remotely.  Please email the Water Well Drillers Program with questions or to request to schedule an examination.



The Well Driller Certification Program certifies water well and monitoring well drillers in accordance with 401 KAR 6:320.  Additionally, technical assistance is offered regarding compliance with state well construction regulations (401 KAR 6:310) and maintenance of water wells and monitoring wells (401 KAR 6:350).

Online recertification is available annually from June 1 through August 31.
