This linear park is designed to provide for outdoor recreation and link neighborhoods, parks, schools, and businesses along its 15 mile length.  The Greenbelt Trail of over 15 miles follows the creek winding through agricultural fields, neighborhoods, and business districts.  Creek bank vegetation is typical and dominated by sycamore, black cherry, green ash, cottonwood, and silver maple.  Several small ponds are located in the Greenbelt.



Access:

The trail is open dawn to dusk and no motorized vehicles or horses are allowed.  It is open to pedestrians and bicyclists and meets American with Disability standards with a 10’ wide asphalt path. Accessible at various locations including New Hartford Road, E. Byers Avenue, Higdon Road, and Old Hartford Road.
