​About Bad Branch Wild River

Bad Branch has been designated as a Wild River from the KY 932 bridge upstream to the headwaters at Pine Mountain in Letcher County. See our Wild Rivers program page for information on what it means to be a Kentucky Wild River. This area is rimmed by 100-foot cliffs and contains the magnificent Bad Branch Falls. The Bad Branch Wild River Corridor harbors a unique assemblege of Kentucky's rare plants and animals.
