Laboratory Certification

Kentucky Laboratory Certification Program

The Kentucky Laboratory Certification Program (KLCP) is administered by the Division of Water (DOW) in the Department for Environmental Protection within the Kentucky's Energy and Environment Cabinet.

KLCP includes both the Kentucky Drinking Water Laboratory Certification Program (KDWLCP) and the Kentucky Wastewater Laboratory Certification Program (KWLCP). Drinking water laboratory certification is based on the Federal Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). Wastewater laboratory certification is based on the Federal Clean Water Act (CWA). Laboratories must be certified by KLCP prior to analyzing water samples for compliance purposes.
